Fan of the X Games? Gould Academy has been developing great snowboarders and skateboarders since 1995

Dave Bean, director of Gould Academy‘s skateboard program, talks about Gould’s exciting new program, Skate School.

For years, Gould’s onSnow program has been a destination for students interested in strong academics and top notch high school snowboarding & skiing opportunities for years. Gould’s Skate School build on this commitment to the sports that make the X Games an international success.

Skate School combines the best of skating and academics for 6 to 9 boys this first spring with aspirations to expand to coed program in spring 2012. Skating has grown from an activity to varsity sport under Bean’s direction.

The Gould skate team competes, travels, and hosts competitive events (Maine Skate Series). Bean connects serious skating and academic discipline. Skate School offers 8th and 9th grade boys the opportunity to immerse themselves in skating and school with other students as serious as they.

Skate School is the first boarding school skateboard program, but skating is not new to Gould. Pro skater Amelia Brodka is a Gould grad.
