Tilton School (Tilton, NH) rising senior Carey paints a picture of school life.
While taking viewers on a tour of Tilton facilities- regular ‘must sees’- dining hall, quad, theater, chapel and athletic facilities, Carey talks about how active student life is. He remarks on how teachers push and stretch Tilton students and highlights two interesting programs.
Tilton requires a public speaking element of each student- working to make each student confident in their abilities to express and communicate oneself before a group.
Carey also explains the F.I.R.S.T. program- a freshman seminar designed to support students through their transition from middle school/junior high to the expectations and workload required of high school students- a very nice idea.
Tilton’s balance between athletics and academics has been a great fit for Carey. As a day student, he thinks he gets the best of both worlds- boarding school (with its diversity and broad opportunities) and he gets to sleep at home.
