Please share a few thoughts about your experiences with The Bement School: Even though I only went to Bement for two years, I'm so glad that I went there. If it weren't for Bement, I wouldn't be the person I am today. Really, if you saw a picture of me at the beginning of eighth grade, you would have a difficult time realizing that that was me. I owe so much to this school from teaching me to play ultimate frisbee to going to the Dominican Republic. I've also made friends and memories that I'll never forget. All I can say really is that Bement is like no place else. Sure, like most schools, it has classrooms and a dining hall. But what really makes Bement unique is the sense of family and togetherness that the school has. Teachers aren't just teachers, they're our parents and friends and other students are like our brothers and sisters. So all I can say to the people out there who haven't gone to Bement is that you're missing out on some pretty amazing people and experiences. The only thing I regret is that I didn't come sooner.

Please share a few thoughts about your experiences with The Bement School: When I first attended Bement, I had no idea what American school is going to be like, but after a year and a half, I got a lot of friendships I can keep forever. I can really say Bement my second home. My dorm mates are like my sisters and my dorm parents are my parents.

Please share a few thoughts about your experiences with The Bement School: Bement has always been a home away from home for me. My first time to step foot on Bement Campus was in the summer after my fifth grade year. I was a camper in the ELAC Camp. I had a lot of fun and came back again and again. Then I attended the Bement School. I enjoyed it a lot. Bement not only provides numerous amounts of opportunities but also a powerful support and encouragement from the community. The small class allow the students to build extremely close relationships with their friends and teachers. Bement is definitely a place to go if you are looking for a close community.

Please share a few thoughts about your experiences with The Bement School: Bement is a one of a kind school. I started Bement in the Fall of 2003 and am now leaving in the June of 2013. I spent 10 wonderful years at Bement and truly wish I could do it again. My ninth grade year was one of my favorite ones. I got to bond with all of my best good friends and got to have great relationships with the advisors. The classes are very interactive and very creative. Bement will always be my second home.

Please share a few thoughts about your experiences with The Bement School: Bement has been a second home for me. With small and intimate class sizes, the relationships built between students and teachers are incredible. I have learned how to comfortably speak publicly, sing whole-heartedly, study with focus, and express myself to everyone. After nine incredible years there, the skills and memories I've collected will stay with me forever.

Please share a few thoughts about your experiences with The Bement School: I started in fourth grade, and now graduating as a ninth grader, I can understand the reasons for everything that Bement has taught me. It is as if the teachers double majored in their respective subjects, and classes on the school’s motto, fly on your own wings. This year alone I have been guided through conquering my fear of public speaking. I seized the opportunity during our Mini Term to co-run an elective for SketchUp, an architecture program. In past years I have been taught to use Photoshop, and at the same time taking art, band, and drama. In the classroom we have already been offered amazing high school level courses. We have read wonderful classics like, The Odyssey, To Kill a Mockingbird, and Killer Angels. I couldn’t ask for more in the sports. I have been competing on our varsity Soccer, Alpine Ski, and Ultimate team since seventh grade. We play many high school teams as well as middle school teams, and there is always great competition. Sports practices Monday through Thursday and if you are like me and don’t think that’s enough, you can join the soccer game at recess, or throw and ultimate disc around. Unfortunately skiing is a bit hard to do in the 15 minutes we are allowed. On another unfortunate note, I graduate in three days. Well, I should say, I move on in three days, because I will always feel, and be proud of the fact, that I was, and forever will be, a Bement student.

Please share a few thoughts about your experiences with The Bement School: Bement will always be one of the most important things to me. It's helped me create the most sentimental memories of my life. The teachers at Bement are some of the greatest people on this earth. I only wish I could stay connected with them forever. There's too much to say about Bement for me to not write a novel so I'll stop here. But I hope it's clear how much Bement can impact one's life.

Please share a few thoughts about your experiences with The Bement School: The Bement school has by far given me the greatest academic and athletic experience I could have asked for in a school. Putting the finishing touches on a History project or even discussing the main (or hidden) points in a Greek play are just a couple examples that do not even come close to tapping the true potential of actually being a Bement student. But from a recent alum's perspective, to even catch the tiniest glimpse of truly understanding what being a Bement student really means, you have to simply imagine a place that will trust you to be a responsible and self-aware person so you can do the right things, and in return, you are given the coolest and most eye-opening experiences a school can provide. Whether you are discussing current events in great detail with the best teachers around, socializing and laughing with friends on the way to and from playing some really awesome sports, or even creating even deeper connections with each one of your classmates while you begin to connect and give your love to some of the sweetest boys in an orphanage in the Domincan Republic, I found it nearly impossible to not enjoy school. Each day was a new story to be told, and it really is an exciting feeling. In short, yes, I would without a single doubt recommend this school to anyone interested in applying.

Please share a few thoughts about your experiences with The Bement School: I could of never dreamed my time at Bement would ever this amazing. From classes, to social issues, to sports and writing graduation speeches, the community holds you and has your back. The teachers are supportive and make it their number one priority to make sure you are happy and caught up and understand the material given to you. More than anything they make you feel at home as if you are not with students and with teachers but with a true family. I wish I could spend the rest of my educational years there.
