Past Parent/Guardian/Year Graduated: 2015
Please share a few thoughts about your experiences with Mercersburg Academy: Overall, I should have kept my child in town with a couple of our great private schools. Mercersburg has great AP test scores because they limit who is allowed to take the AP classes. I pulled my child after 2 years due to the lack of faith or effort the school had in my child to take the AP classes. They only allowed him to enroll in one AP class for his junior year. The school makes your child's schedule. You have very little say in what the classes are. The school also has a high turn over among staff. My child did enjoy going to Mercersburg. The staff and other students are very welcoming. The rigor of the curriculum is lacking. At our local school, my child had many more opportunities to take AP classes with experience teachers. I was disappointed with the educational opportunities for the high cost of their program. The school has no AP computer class. Mercersburg is a liberal arts school.
