History
Forest Ridge, an independent, Catholic, day and boarding school for girls in grades 5-12, was originally founded in Seattle in 1907 by the Religious of the Sacred Heart. Forest Ridge is steeped in a 200-year-old Sacred Heart tradition that anchors the community and connects it to 150 schools worldwide.
The school is guided by the Sacred Heart Goals & Criteria, rooted in the wisdom of St. Madeleine Sophie Barat, the foundress of the Society of the Sacred Heart. Barat, who founded the Society of the Sacred Heart in 1800, envisioned a transformational education for each student, something that continues to drive the educational philosophy of Forest Ridge.
