History Of School

Founded in 1967, The Carroll School is the oldest independent day school in New England for children with a primary language based learning disability and who are of average to above average intelligence. Carroll's program was developed by Dr. Edwin Cole, who had seen dramatic results working with small groups of bright dyslexic children using the Orton-Gillingham approach to teaching language. Over the past thirty years, Carroll's innovative, structured, multisensory program has helped thousands of children become independent learners. Our commitment to maintain a thriving faculty is a primary element of our success. Our dedicated teachers deliver language remediation curriculum-wide.
