Verde Valley School HistoryVerde Valley School: Located at over 4,000 feet in the beautiful, cool mountains near Sedona, Arizona, USA Verde Valley School is an international college preparatory boarding school and day school. Importantly, VVS is one of only 5 fully approved International Baccalaureate Boarding Schools in the U.S. As such, our graduates are sought out by the most selective colleges and universities in the U.S. and in over 100 nations. All students in grades 11 and 12 participate in IB classes at VVS. Founded in 1948 by Hamilton and Barbara Warren, VVS was built on their dream: "If we bring together talented young people from around the world and ask them to build and to study, to work and to learn, we can change the world for the better." VVS continues to live this ideal, today. The strong IB program at VVS is complemented by a world-class outdoor program (including rock climbing, mountain biking, English and Western horseback riding, hiking and camping) as well as a fine and performing arts program long known to be among the best in U.S. boarding schools. VVS is home to 120 curious and tenacious adventurers - 38 percent are from Arizona, 37 percent are from international countries, and 25 percent live in other U.S. states. Here, inspired by the beauty of Sedona and an international faculty, students build strong academic skills, discover their individual talents, experience diverse cultures, and form life-long friendships with teachers and peers. |
