Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School offers a new Ninth Grade program designed specifically for first year students. The program, inclusive of all ninth grade students, incorporates skill building (note-taking, test preparation, text book comprehension, research, and writing) into its traditional academic curriculum.

Our classes range in size from 8-12 students in the ninth grade, to 8-14 students in grades 10-12.

For students who require additional academic support, Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall offers an English as a Second Language Program, as well as a Learning Center.

The English as a Second Language Program offers students with intermediate to advanced English language proficiency small classes with an emphasis on entering our mainstream program by the 11th grade, or at the very latest, the 12th grade.

The Learning Center program is designed to provide academic as well as skill support to students who need extra academic assistance. The Learning Center is offered as an academic course that is built into the academic day; in addition, 70% of the student body uses this academic resource. Students work in groups of 3-4 students with one learning specialist. Our Learning Center is staffed by five Learning Specialists that work with small groups or with the individual as necessary. The Learning Center staff and classroom teachers communicate on a weekly basis to better support our students.
